Privacy policy and cookies

This page explains which personal data NS Service AS processes when you use the website or contact us, why we do it, and what rights you have. It is an English version of our Norwegian privacy policy and cookie policy. If the versions differ, the Norwegian ones apply.

1. Data controller

NS Service AS (org. no. 933 864 596), Stallbakken 5, 2005 Rælingen, Norway, is the controller for the personal data described here. Questions about privacy: post@nsservice.no or 994 10 930.

2. Contact form and emergency form

What we collect: name, email, phone number, company or housing cooperative, address, what the enquiry is about, how you found us (optional) and your message. Please do not write sensitive information (for example health information) in the message field.

Purpose and legal basis: to reply to your enquiry, call you back, give you a quote and possibly carry out the job – GDPR Article 6(1)(b) (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract). For enquiries that are not about a job, such as job applications and general questions, the basis is Article 6(1)(f) (our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries).

How it is sent: the form is sent encrypted to a function at Vercel, which forwards the content by email via Resend to post@nsservice.no (Domeneshop) and a copy to NS Service's Gmail account (Google). We do not store the form content in a database on the website. Enquiries are checked automatically for spam; clear spam is deleted without being sent, and possible spam is marked in the subject line.

If you have accepted «Statistics», the email also shows where you came to the site from (for example a Google ad or a Google search). In addition, a row is added to NS Service's spreadsheet of enquiries with the time, what the enquiry is about, the source, your answer to «How did you find us?», the page, the device type and a short reference. Your name, contact details and message are not added to the spreadsheet.

Retention: enquiries are deleted no later than 12 months after the matter is closed. If the enquiry becomes a job, invoices and other accounting records are kept as long as the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act requires, normally 5 years after the end of the financial year.

3. Cookies, statistics and advertising measurement (only with consent)

Under the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act § 3-15, the website may only store or read information on your device with your consent, or when it is strictly necessary. If you say no, or do not answer, NS Service sets no cookies. We then only store your consent choice, and – if you close the emergency bar on mobile yourself – that it should stay hidden until you close the tab.

The legal basis for statistics and marketing is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and § 3-15 of the Electronic Communications Act). NS Service AS and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are joint controllers for collecting and transferring data to Meta; Meta is the controller for how the data is used afterwards (see Meta's privacy policy). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time under . When you withdraw it, the page reloads and the cookies and stored source for that category are deleted.

4. Hosting and security (server logs)

The website is hosted by Vercel, which processes technical information such as IP address, time, requested address and browser information in server logs. This is necessary to deliver the site, prevent misuse and fix errors (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The logs are kept for a short time according to Vercel's routines.

5. Processors and recipients

  • Vercel Inc. (USA): hosting, server logs, form function, Web Analytics and Speed Insights.
  • Resend, Inc. (USA): sends form enquiries as email to NS Service, via Resend's EU region (Ireland).
  • Domeneshop AS (Norway): email service for post@nsservice.no.
  • Google Ireland Limited (Ireland), with Google LLC (USA) as sub-processor: Google Analytics 4, Google Ads measurement, the spreadsheet of enquiries in Google Sheets and the Gmail copy of form enquiries.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Ireland), with Meta Platforms, Inc. (USA): Meta Pixel, joint controller as described in section 3.

We have data processing agreements with Vercel, Resend, Domeneshop and Google, and a joint controller agreement with Meta (Meta's Business Tools Terms). We never sell personal data.

6. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Vercel, Resend, Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. are based in the USA, so data may be processed there. Transfers are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified (Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. are certified) and/or the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses (GDPR Articles 45 and 46). To avoid the transfer, do not accept «Statistics» and «Marketing», or call us instead of using the form.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification and erasure, to restrict processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Send your request to post@nsservice.no. We reply without undue delay and within 30 days at the latest.

8. Complaints

If you believe we process personal data in breach of the rules, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), see datatilsynet.no.
